There is a mix of many different musical influences in Kiko Loureiro’s playing style, so he needs a guitar to be well-rounded in order to cover everything he wants to do with the guitar.

He and Ibanez worked for a long time, going over many different neck shapes and body shapes before deciding on what works best for him, and nailed it with the affordable IBANEZ Kiko Loureiro KIKOSP3 TEB solid body electric guitar.

Poplar (body) is consideder as a nice alternative for Alder, with close balanced tonal characteristics.
The lighter feel, subtler grain and cheaper cost of Poplar is perfect for affordable instruments. Netherless it is used to built some high quality guitars and basses.

Brazilian Cherry / Jatoba (fingerboard) is a tonewood very similar to Pau Ferro. Its warm tone is tempered by a snappy attack. In between Rosewood and Maple.
